Hilarious Grand Theft Auto 5 Video Shows NPCs Having No Reaction to Michael Falling Out of the Sky

A Grand Theft Auto 5 player recently entered Director Mode and saw how NPCs would react if one of the main characters dropped out of the sky in front of them. In the video, the player used the mode to launch Michael De Santa/Michael Townley into the air and landed right in front of a set of NPCs. Oddly enough, the Grand Theft Auto 5 characters don’t react to Michael falling out of the sky.

Way back in 2015, Grand Theft Auto 5‘s PC version introduced the Director Mode for the video game. This mode allows players to alter the environment of the game and take control of NPCs, among many other things, to alter the game’s setting. Specifically, the mode allows players better control of the conditions in which they record videos within the game. Sometimes, however, using the director mode in the game has some unexpected results with the game’s various NPCs.

Grand Theft Auto 5‘s NPCs often respond to things that players do in odd and unexpected ways. In one instance, a Grand Theft Auto player was actually protected by NPCs after another NPC attacked them. In a recent post on Grand Theft Auto‘s Reddit page, user TheAnnoyingKoala shared the video with the bizarre NPC reaction. After Michael lands in front of them, none of the NPCs respond in a way that is expected. In fact, for the most part, they just ignore Michael and keep walking, but one actually apologizes for bumping into him.

As mentioned above, the Director Mode was introduced in the PC version of the game. Getting into the Grand Theft Auto 5 director mode can require some guidance, but once players get it down, it can result in some entertaining moments. Some of these moments just happen to involve the game’s many unpredictable NPCs.

At times, the game’s NPCs behave in insane ways. In addition to the aforementioned player protection, one Grand Theft Auto NPC stole a player’s helicopter only for another NPC to steal another he buys. Other instances have shown NPCs deliberately crashing into players while driving, and others spinning in place in the middle of a gun battle. The Director Mode of the game seems to throw another wrench into the NPC AI that it is not always prepared to handle, and players will likely see more instances of it before the sixth game is released.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
